The consortium between United States imperialism and Israeli Zionism launched, this Saturday morning (28), an attack against Iran.

Called Operation Epic Fury, the aggression continues Donald Trump’s plans to overthrow the Iranian government and seize its wealth, just as he is trying to do in Venezuela. While the Caribbean country has the largest oil reserves in the world, Iran has the third largest.

In a complementary way, the operation serves Zionist interests in the Middle East, by trying to weaken states considered enemies.

In retaliation for the military actions, the Persian country counterattacked with missiles and drones aimed at US bases in the Persian Gulf and Israel.

According to Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the country was the target of a “criminal military action” that destabilizes world peace. The Persian government also called for global condemnation of the attack and requested that the UN Secretary-General and the Security Council take immediate action against the attackers.

USA-Israel

The US and Israeli military campaign was orchestrated with air strikes and from sea bases with targets in different regions, but with an emphasis on Tehran and close to the residence of the supreme leader, Ali Khamenei.

The action overlapped with negotiations to discuss Iran’s nuclear program, which was one of the points demanded by the Americans not to attack them. With the current circumstances, it appears that Trump gained time to arm himself in the region and surround Iran in the various bases it has in the Middle East, while signaling a false agreement.

When commenting on the operation, the US president classified it as a necessity to protect the people of his country by “eliminating imminent threats from the Iranian regime” — yet another false statement by Trump, since the regime in the Persian country had not carried out any provocation.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu did not hide the real intention of the attack when he said that the bombings aimed to create conditions for the overthrow of the government.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reaffirmed the attempt to weaken the Iranian regime, justifying, without presenting evidence, that Iran continues with a nuclear plan aimed at reaching them.

Brazil condemns the aggression

In a statement, the Brazilian government, through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, condemned the attacks by the United States and Israel against targets in Iran.

“The attacks occurred in the midst of a negotiation process between the parties, which is the only viable path to peace, a position traditionally defended by Brazil in the region. Brazil calls on all parties to respect international law and exercise maximum restraint, in order to avoid the escalation of hostilities and to ensure the protection of civilians and civil infrastructure”, says the note.

Itamaraty also recommends that the Brazilian community in the affected countries pay attention to “the safety guidelines of local authorities in the countries where they live or are located.”

The president of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, also spoke out and called for efforts from the international community to prevent the conflict from progressing.

“Once again, they have undermined diplomatic efforts on the nuclear issue and are putting regional and international peace and security at risk. The effects already felt in this unstable region clearly demonstrate this. The international community must act immediately to stop this aggression and prevent an escalation, given its unpredictable consequences”, he said.

Another country that has already spoken out is Russia. The country’s Foreign Minister, Sergei Lavrov, offered solidarity in a call to Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi. The Russian stressed that the US and Israeli attack was carried out without any provocation that would justify the aggression and that he will call for the interruption of military actions against Iran.

Analysis

The geographer and professor at the Faculty of Economic Sciences at UERJ and president of the Municipal Institute of Urbanism Pereira Passos (IPP), Elias Jabbour, analyzed the attack.

As he explains, the threat against Iran has been occurring for a long time with the aim of ending the nuclear program in the country, but with more complex interests.

“The ultimate objective of this entire process is the construction of a Middle East in the image and likeness of Israel. The destruction of Hezbollah in Lebanon, the fall of Bashar al-Assad in Syria, the Arab springs, the genocide in Gaza are all preparatory elements for the constitution of a Middle East that meets the interests of Israel and the United States”, he points out.

According to him, the two “greatest enemies of humanity” are American imperialism and Israeli Zionism. “The world today is experiencing moments of instability never seen since the Second World War. This instability has a first and last name, which is the union between American imperialism and Israeli Zionism. This is a fact that we cannot deny, they are the greatest enemies of world peace”, he adds.

“Yesterday it was Venezuela. It has been Cuba, blackmailed and strangled to the maximum, and today it was Iran with this preventive attack carried out by these two countries that epitomize what is most horrible on the face of the earth”, laments Jabbour, who believes that the consequences of these aggressions will be the worst possible by increasing regional tension.
