In yet another US attempt to interfere in peace negotiations between Russia and Ukraine, special envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner arrived in Moscow this Saturday morning (05). The objective is to secure an agreement that puts an end to the war that has lasted four and a half years.
According to Russian state news agency Tass, the envoys were met at the airport by Kirill Dmitriev, an official representative of the Russian government. Donald Trump’s envoys are expected to be received by Putin this Saturday.
On Friday (04), Trump said that the US had a concrete proposal to end the war, but did not give details about his plan.
Pause us attacks
President Putin has ordered a three-day pause in attacks on Kiev while negotiations are ongoing.
In a post on X, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that Russia attacked two Ukrainian airports before the representatives’ visit. Zelensky also said, in a post on Linkedin, that the two US representatives would travel to Ukraine on Sunday, after their visit to Moscow.
