Operation was carried out at 57 addresses in 8 provinces; Authorities are still looking for 13 other suspects

Turkish authorities arrested 33 people on Tuesday (2 January 2024) suspected of working for Israel’s national intelligence agency, known as “Mossad”. The information was released by Türkiye’s state news agency, Anadolu.

The suspected spies are accused of having engaged in activities such as surveillance, assault and kidnapping on behalf of the Israeli intelligence service.

The arrests are the result of an investigation conducted by the Terrorism and Organized Crimes Investigation Department of the Public Prosecutor’s Office in Istanbul, the country’s former capital.

The agency’s operation was responsible for simultaneous searches at 57 addresses in 8 provinces. According to the Anadoluthe operation is still looking for another 13 suspects.
