The President of the United States, Donald Trump, once again threatened Iran, giving the country what would be the “last chance” to resume negotiations, scheduled for next Tuesday (21), in Pakistan.
According to Trump, if the Iranian government refuses the new peace agreement, “the entire country will be destroyed.” The statements were made to the Fox News channel this Saturday (18).
The second round of negotiations in Islamabad will have, in the American delegation, Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner, and the White House envoy for Middle East affairs, Steve Witkoff.
On his social media, Trump said he would be offering “a very fair and reasonable deal”, adding that, otherwise, the US “will destroy all the power plants and all the bridges in Iran”.

According to international agencies, Iran has not yet decided whether it will send a delegation to Pakistan “while there is a naval blockade”. According to the country, Trump violated the ceasefire negotiated between the parties by blocking naval transit in the Strait of Hormuz, which, according to Tehran, constitutes “not only a violation of the ceasefire” but also an “illegal and criminal” act.
In the assessment of Esmail Baghai, spokesman for the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, “by deliberately inflicting collective punishment on the Iranian people constitutes a war crime and a crime against humanity”.
This Saturday (18), Iran reported having regained control of the Strait of Hormuz through its Armed Forces. The decision was taken after, according to local authorities, the United States broke commitments previously reached between the two countries.
