US presidential candidate Donald Trump and his Republican Party have maintained their agenda, which was planned before the attack in Pennsylvania. Between this Monday (15) and Thursday (18), the party will hold the Republican National Convention, which will confirm the billionaire’s third consecutive presidential nomination.

Trump landed this Sunday (14) in Milwaukee, the main city in the state of Wisconsin, in the center-west of the country, where the event takes place. The convention should also indicate the party’s candidate for vice president in the 2024 elections.

Wisconsin is considered one of the key states for the November election, along with Pennsylvania, Arizona, Michigan, Georgia and Nevada.

“President Trump looks forward to joining all of you in Milwaukee as we proceed with our convention to nominate him to serve as the 47th President of the United States,” the convention committee and Trump campaign said in a joint statement released Saturday.

“As our party’s nominee, President Trump will continue to share his vision of Making America Great Again,” the statement added.

Over the course of four days, the convention will bring together the leading names in the American far right at the Fiserv Forum, the city’s largest event venue. Additional meetings will be held at the Wisconsin Center District campus. The campus includes the Baird Center, the Miller High Life Theatre and the UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena.

According to Michael Whatley, chairman of the Republican National Convention, Trump’s electoral strategy will seek to “unite all of the Americas.”

The new strategic plan outlined by Whatley is quite different from the one outlined before the CNN debate in June. The day before, the committee chairman said former President Donald Trump would have “a conversation about two Americas,” drawing a distinction between the way Republicans and Democrats govern.

The attempt is to bring together independent and undecided voters in the wake of the attack in Pennsylvania.

The tycoon himself indicated that he will deliver a speech that is “very different” from what he had planned. “It is an opportunity to unite the country, I was given this opportunity,” the former president told the Washington Examiner website.

Upon arriving in Milwaukee, Trump stepped off the plane with his fist raised, repeating his reaction shortly after Saturday’s attack (13).
