According to Paulo Teixeira, the governor of SP needs to do an internship with the Minister of Justice to learn how to stay within the law
The Minister of Agrarian Development, Paulo Teixeira, said that the governor of São Paulo, Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans), and the Secretary of State Public Security, Guilherme Derrite, should do an internship with the Minister of Justice, Ricardo Lewandowski, and with the PF (Federal Police) to learn how to fight crime within the law. On Thursday (April 4, 2024), the 2 fugitives from the Federal Penitentiary of Mossoró (RN) were found and arrested in Marabá (PA).
“Governor Tarcísio and his secretary Derrite should do an internship with Minister Lewandowski and the PF to learn [sic] how to fight crime, within the law”, declared Teixeira on his profile on X (formerly Twitter) this Friday (April 5).
The number of deaths in Operation Verão, in Baixada Santos, on the coast of São Paulo, reached 56 on April 3. The police action that began in December 2023 is an extension of Operation Escudo, launched in July 2023, which left at least 28 people dead in around 40 days.
In March, Governor Tarcísio de Freitas said he was “no” for the accusations made against him for the escalation of violence in police actions.
