The collapse of a section of a highway in China, on Wednesday (May 1, 2024), left at least 36 people dead and around 30 injured, according to the state news agency Xinhua. The accident occurred in Guangdong province, in the south of the country. According to Xinhua, the section that collapsed is 17.9 meters long and covers an area of 184.3 square meters. More than 20 cars ended up in the crater opened by the collapse. The region was hit last Saturday (April 27) by a tornado that left at least 5 people dead and caused rain and hailstorms.
