Make this Porridge using the ingredients below and following the preparation instructions.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup rolled oats

  • 2 cups milk (you can use cow’s milk, plant-based milk such as almond milk or soy milk if you prefer)

  • 2-3 tablespoons sugar (or to taste)

  • A bit of salt

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)

  • Toppings to taste (fresh fruits, nuts, honey, cinnamon, etc.)

Directions

  • In a pan, add the rolled oats, milk and a pinch of salt. 
    Mix well.
  • Place the pan over medium heat and stir the mixture constantly to prevent the oats from sticking to the bottom of the pan.
  • Cook the porridge for about 5-7 minutes, or until the oats have absorbed most of the milk and the mixture has thickened.
  • Add the sugar and vanilla extract, if using, and continue stirring for a few more minutes until the porridge reaches the desired consistency.
  • Remove the porridge from the heat and serve in bowls.
  • Add toppings of your choice, such as fresh fruit, nuts, honey or cinnamon.
