Pope Francis included the victims of Rio Grande do Sul in his prayers this Sunday (May 5, 2024). The pontiff offered solidarity to the families affected by the rains and floods in the State at the end of the Regina Caeli, a traditional Catholic supplication, in St. Peter’s Square, at the Vatican.

I want to assure my prayers for the populations of the State of Rio Grande do Sul, in Brazil, affected by major floods. May the Lord welcome the dead and comfort their families and those who had to abandon their homess,” said Francisco.
