Pontiff said he is following the progress of the conflict with pain and questioned whether it would be possible to achieve peace in the current situation

Pope Francis called for an end to the war in the Middle East. Speaking to the faithful this Sunday (March 3, 2024), he asked for unity in the call for peace in the conflict.

Every day I carry in my heart with pain the suffering of the populations in Palestine and Israel due to the ongoing hostilities, thousands of dead, injured, displaced”, said the holy pontiff.

The speech was made from the window of the Apostolic Palace, in the Vatican, to the devotees present in Saint Peter’s Square. “Do you really think you can build a better world this way? Do you really think you will achieve peace?”he questioned.

Enough Please! Let’s all say enough is enough, please. Stop”, declared the pope.

The speech by the leader of the Catholic Church was shared by the minister of Secom (Secretariat of Social Communication of the Presidency of the Republic), Paulo Pimenta. The PT member declared that the Pope and President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) “together echo the call for peace in the face of the conflict in Israel”.
