Billionaire and Argentine president met in Los Angeles; both participated in the 27th Milken Institute Global Conference
Billionaire Elon Musk, owner of companies such as X (former Twitter), SpaceX and Tesla, recommended investments in Argentina after meeting with the country’s president, Javier Milei (La Libertad Avanza, right-wing), on Monday ( May 6, 2024), in Los Angeles (USA).
Musk published a photo of the meeting at X and claimed to have had a “great meeting” with Milei. By sharing the post, the billionaire declared: “I recommend investing in Argentina.”
Milei and Musk participated in the 27th Milken Institute Global Conference in California. The event started on Sunday (5th May) and ends on Wednesday (8th May).
The Argentine president is implementing an agenda of liberal reforms in the country, with privatizations and more flexible labor relations. The S&P Merval, the main index on the Argentine Stock Exchange, has risen 54% since the economist took office on December 10, 2023.
On Friday (May 3, 2024), it reached 1,452,002 points. On December 7, it closed at 941,830 points.
