During the performance in Copacabana, the singer showed images of politicians, such as Marielle Franco, murdered in 2018
The Minister of Environment and Climate Change, Marina Silva, and federal deputy Erika Hilton (Psol-SP) thanked Madonna this Sunday (May 5, 2024) for the tribute made at the show on Copacabana beach, in Rio. Images of the two were shown on the “Celebration Tour” during a performance of “Music“.
In your profile on X (formerly Twitter), Erika Hilton, who was at the show, wrote: “What an emotion, honor and joy to be together with so many figures, in this historic moment of 40 years in the career of the world queen of pop”. She said she already knew about the tribute.
Marina Silva, who had an image of herself displayed alongside one of singer Gilberto Gil, these have stayed “very honored” for remembering her “alongside Brazilian men and women of immense value, artistic, political and social contribution”.
The Minister of the Environment did not go to the show. She is with President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) and other members of the government on a trip to Rio Grande do Sul to monitor the damage caused by the rains in the State, which killed 75 people until the last Civil Defense bulletin, at 12 pm.
At the show in Copacabana, Madonna also paid tribute to other politicians, such as the Rio councilor murdered in 2018, Marielle Franco (Psol), and names from Brazilian culture and history, such as rapper Mano Brown, Pelé and Zumbi dos Palmares.
