At the end of his re-election campaign in Caracas, Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro announced that he has a decree ready to begin “a new era of dialogue” with the people of his country.

“A great national, economic, social, cultural and political dialogue with all of society, without foreign interference. An inclusive national dialogue,” he said.

According to the president, the proposal is to build a consensus to consolidate the country’s growth and recovery, face the blockades imposed by imperialism and enable the improvement of workers’ incomes.

“There are millions of men and women in Venezuela and across the planet watching this majestic and monumental demonstration of victory, of popular victory,” he added, emphasizing that this will be an action built with the masses:

“It is not a dialogue between elites. It is a political dialogue to develop democracy, the constitution, with ordinary citizens, with the forces of the people. […] to deepen popular democracy as a protagonist and direct democracy with the people”, highlighted the president.
