Ingredients

  • 500g chicken breast cut into strips

  • 1 medium onion chopped

  • 2 cloves of garlic, chopped

  • 200g sliced ​​mushrooms (optional)

  • 3 tablespoons of butter

  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil

  • 1 tablespoon of ketchup

  • 1 tablespoon mustard

  • 1 cup of cream

  • Salt to taste

  • Black pepper to taste

  • Chopped parsley to decorate

Directions

  • Heat the butter and oil in a large skillet over medium heat. 
    Add the chopped onion and chopped garlic, sautéing until soft and slightly golden.
  • Add the chicken cut into strips to the pan and sauté until it is well cooked and golden on the outside.
  • Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
  • If you are using mushrooms, add them to the pan and cook for a few more minutes until they are soft.
  • Then add the ketchup and mustard to the chicken and mix well, ensuring all the chicken pieces are covered in the sauce.
  • Reduce the heat to medium-low and add the cream to the skillet. 
    Stir gently to incorporate the cream into the sauce.
  • Let it cook for a few more minutes until the sauce is heated through and slightly thickened.
  • Taste the sauce and adjust the salt and pepper if necessary.
  • Remove from the heat and serve the chicken stroganoff hot, accompanied by white rice, French fries, mashed potatoes or pasta. 
    Sprinkle chopped parsley on top to decorate.
