The Lebanese Communist Party released, this Sunday (12), a public statement categorically rejecting US-mediated negotiations with Israel.
Communists remember that Israel has no commitment to international agreements and laws, and the USA “are complicit in the aggression against Lebanon and the region (…) Therefore, any security negotiations must be conducted exclusively under international auspices and in a neutral country friendly to Lebanon”.
The Lebanese PC calls for national unity to face and defeat Zionist aggression, in “a journey of unity, construction, liberation, true democracy and economic progress, forming the basis for building the Lebanon of the future and an impenetrable bulwark against Israeli expansion and its fascist and racist regime”.

Communist Party: No to peace with an apartheid entity
In view of the continued Zionist aggression against Lebanon, preliminary meetings will be held next Tuesday at the State Department in Washington, with the presence of Lebanese and Israeli representatives, under American auspices, both in form and in essence. In this context, the Lebanese Communist Party states the following:
1. A ceasefire is essential above all, and direct political negotiations with “Israel” are categorically rejected. Lebanon has no interest in participating in these negotiations as long as it is powerless or subject to Zionist conditions and American pressure, which refuse the unconditional withdrawal of Israeli occupation forces to the 1949 Armistice Line and the return of our displaced people to their villages, cities and homes.
2.Lebanon must refuse to enter into negotiations on the Israeli conditions repeatedly declared by the enemy, that is, achieve peace with Lebanon and disarm the resistance. We warn of the consequences of accepting such conditions, given that the Zionist enemy does not recognize or implement international agreements or resolutions.
3. We reject American sponsorship of the negotiations, regardless of their form or location, because the United States is complicit in the aggression against Lebanon and the region, in addition to its allies. Therefore, any security negotiations must be conducted exclusively under international auspices and in a neutral country friendly to Lebanon.
4. All Lebanese have no other option than to defend their full national rights, especially their legitimate right, enshrined in international laws and conventions, to resist the occupation by all available means. In this context, we reiterate our support for the initiative of deputy Osama Saad, who proposed a bill that prohibited negotiations with the Israeli enemy. We request an urgent parliamentary session to approve the bill.
5. There can be no peace with the apartheid entity that, through its right-wing fascist government, committed genocide against the Palestinian people in Gaza and is extending this genocide to our Lebanese people. It occupied and destroyed Lebanese villages, killed civilians — men, women and children — and displaced more than a million Lebanese from their lands and homes. Their warplanes continue to launch daily attacks with unprecedented treachery and cowardice against Lebanon, its capital Beirut and its southern suburbs, as happened on Black Wednesday. He also murdered State Security agents in cold blood in Nabatieh after the announcement of the start of negotiations. This entity denies the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination, preventing them from realizing their aspirations and obtaining their legitimate rights. It attempts to annex Jerusalem and the West Bank, enacts apartheid laws to execute Palestinian resistance fighters, and gives carte blanche to settlement activity and settlers to commit crimes against the Palestinian people. It occupies, attacks and expands its occupation of Syrian lands, trying to control the Middle East and establish regional imperialism against the interests of the people of the region and the Arab States through wars, destruction and murders.
6. The need to emphasize national unity and remove discord, as well as the rejection of sectarian, inflammatory and accusatory rhetoric. From all sides, whether on the streets, in the media or on social media, it is imperative to work to achieve a national consensus on any measures with national implications, adhering to the implementation of the reform clauses of the Taif Agreement, standing united against Israeli aggression and occupation and affirming the unity and integrity of Lebanese territory, reconstruction, the right of return and the right of the Lebanese people to live in democracy, peace, security, political stability and economic prosperity within a secular and democratic state that resists occupation and protects its sovereignty.
7. Work to mobilize political support for Lebanon to stop Israeli aggression and ensure withdrawal, through an intense political campaign with all freedom-loving people around the world, including communist, left-wing, progressive and democratic forces and parties, as well as with all Arab, European, Asian and African institutions, forums, meetings and states, especially those friends of Lebanon and with significant influence on current events. These countries have repeatedly reaffirmed their support for Lebanon and its territorial integrity and condemned Israeli aggression against the country. We express our gratitude and appreciation for the humanitarian and solidarity assistance they have provided and continue to provide, as well as for their continued efforts, contacts and political support to Lebanon in the ongoing meetings and negotiations.
The Lebanese Communist Party believes that Lebanon finds itself today at a crucial historical crossroads that will determine the course of its constitutional, political, economic and social development, and its international and Arab relations in the near future. It is time for everyone to assume their national responsibilities, so that this journey is a journey of unity, construction, liberation, true democracy and economic progress, forming the basis for building the Lebanon of the future and an impenetrable bulwark against Israeli expansion and its fascist and racist regime.
