Ingredients
500g wheat flour
200g of sugar
100g of butter
4 eggs
100ml of milk
10g of salt
20g dry yeast
100g candied fruit
100g of sliced almonds
Icing sugar for sprinkling
Directions
- In a large bowl, mix the flour, sugar and salt.
- Add the softened butter and mix with your hands until you get a crumbly mixture.
- Add the eggs and milk and mix well until you form a smooth and homogeneous mass.
- Add the yeast and mix again.
- Add the candied fruits and almonds and mix gently.
- Place the dough in a pre-greased and floured mold.
- Let the dough rest in a warm, draft-free place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Preheat the oven to 180°C.
- Bake the colomba for about 40 minutes or until it is golden.
- Remove the colomba from the oven and let it cool completely.
- Sprinkle icing sugar on top before serving.
