Ingredients

  • 500g wheat flour

  • 200g of sugar

  • 100g of butter

  • 4 eggs

  • 100ml of milk

  • 10g of salt

  • 20g dry yeast

  • 100g candied fruit

  • 100g of sliced ​​almonds

  • Icing sugar for sprinkling

Directions

  • In a large bowl, mix the flour, sugar and salt.
  • Add the softened butter and mix with your hands until you get a crumbly mixture.
  • Add the eggs and milk and mix well until you form a smooth and homogeneous mass.
  • Add the yeast and mix again.
  • Add the candied fruits and almonds and mix gently.
  • Place the dough in a pre-greased and floured mold.
  • Let the dough rest in a warm, draft-free place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  • Preheat the oven to 180°C.
  • Bake the colomba for about 40 minutes or until it is golden.
  • Remove the colomba from the oven and let it cool completely.
  • Sprinkle icing sugar on top before serving.
