Ingredients
500g wheat flour
2 tablespoons of sugar
2 teaspoons of salt
1 sachet of dry yeast (10g)
1 egg
100 ml of warm milk
100ml of warm water
50g butter at room temperature
Directions
- In a large bowl, mix the flour, sugar and salt.
- In another bowl, dissolve the yeast in warm milk.
- Add the egg and butter to the yeast mixture and mix well.
- Add the yeast mixture to the flour mixture along with the warm water.
Mix until you get a homogeneous mass. - Place the dough on a floured surface and knead for about 10 minutes, until it is smooth and elastic.
- Form the dough into a ball and place in a lightly oiled bowl.
Cover with a tea towel and let rest in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until the dough has doubled in size. - Preheat the oven to 180°C.
- Divide the dough into small portions and shape into little tubes.
Place on an oiled baking sheet and let rest for another 10 minutes. - Bake for about 20 to 25 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown.
- Remove from oven and let cool slightly before serving.
