Miami mayor is the 1st Hispanic to enter the race for the Republican seat in the primaries; competes with DeSantis and Trump

The mayor of Miami, Francis Suarez, officially launched his candidacy for the 2024 US elections this Thursday (15.jun.2023). In a released video, the politician
announces that he will enter the race for the Republican party’s primary seat. “I will run for president, I will run for your children and mine. Let’s give them the future they deserve.”, said in a post on Twitter. Suarez, who is Cuban-American, is currently serving his second term as mayor of the most populous city in the state of Florida. He is the first Hispanic candidate to run for the Republican party. He will run against former US President Donald Trump and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.
