Argentine Security Minister criticized national march against budget adjustments for public universities

Argentina’s Minister of Security, Patricia Bullrich, told journalists that, if necessary, she will apply the “anti-picketing protocol” at the demonstration that will take place in the country this Tuesday (April 22, 2024).

The measure allows, among other things, the use of force proportional to the resistance offered by protesters who block public roads.

According to information from the The nationBullrich also criticized the protest organizers, stating that they “continue to generate tension in a country that needs to take care of itself”.

She also questioned the continuity of the mobilization after the Argentine government increased the resources allocated to the country’s universities.

“They have a big budget and forget that all sectors of society need a smaller budget to get out of the brutal crisis in which we find ourselves”these.

The national march against budget adjustments for public universities in the country, promoted by the CGT (General Confederation of Labor) union center, will begin at 3:30 pm (Brasília time) at the Plaza del Congreso National, in Buenos Aires.

Protesters will proceed to Plaza de Mayo, where a declaration will be read at 6 pm (Brasília time).
