Bolivia will donate food, blankets, canvas and campaign tents to victims of the floods in Rio Grande do Sul. The measure was approved on Wednesday (May 15, 2024), declared President Luis Arce (Movement to Socialism, left-wing party) on his profile on X (ex-Twitter). The date for sending humanitarian aid was not announced.
Arce also expressed solidarity with Lula: “President brother [Luiz Inácio] Lula [da Silva], Rest assured we are keeping a close eye on what is happening to your brave people. Strength Brazil!”these.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs thanked the neighboring country for its support on its Instagram profile this Thursday (May 16).
Rio Grande do Sul has 461 cities affected by floods. According to Civil Defense, 151 deaths were confirmed and the number of missing is 104. The number of injured is 806. In total, 2.281.830 people have already been harmed by floods in the state of Rio Grande do Sul. The data is from report card released at 6pm this Thursday (May 16).
