Preparing the classic and delicious flaky apple pie is super easy!

Ingredients

  • 400 grams of puff pastry

  • 5 tablespoons of sugar

  • 4 big apples

  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch

  • 1 tablespoon butter or margarine

  • 1 egg yolk for brushing

  • 1/2 glass of water

  • Cinnamon powder to taste

  • Icing sugar for sprinkling

Directions

  • Cut the apples, remove the seeds and skins and then chop the fruits into cubes.
  • Transfer to a pan and add the sugar, butter or margarine, ground cinnamon and cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Add cornstarch and water to a bowl and stir until dissolved. 
    Put it in the pan with the apples and let it cool a little.
  • Roll out the puff pastry on a smooth, clean surface and cut it into rectangles.
  • Place a little of the stuffing on top of each rectangle of dough, roll it up and close by pressing the edges with a fork, forming tartlets.
  • Arrange the tartlets on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and brush the egg yolk over the top.
  • Bake in a preheated oven at 200º₢ for approximately 20 to 25 minutes, or until the tartlets are golden brown.
  • Carefully remove from the oven, finish by sprinkling icing sugar on top and the apple tartlets are ready.
