The action expands the diversification strategy in the Brazilian market, considered the most important for the company. Tickets are now available on site from TAP and travel agents, with prices starting at R$3,453.89, round trip, including all fees, as per Investing Brasil quote.

This is an achievement for Santa Catarina and for the people of Santa Catarina, who have important relations with Europe. Furthermore, we will further enhance the tourist experience, welcoming Portuguese and all European people to our land. We will also expand business opportunities in our commercial relationship, which can grow even further”, stated the governor of Santa Catarina, Jorginho Mello.

According to Mello, there will be an important exchange of ideas and knowledge to bring and attract business, through fairs, congresses and partnerships. “I have no doubt that this is a great success for TAP, but it is also a watershed in the history of Santa Catarina”, concluded the governor.

For Luís Rodrigues, CEO of TAP, the launch of the route to Santa Catarina had been evaluated for some time. “For TAP, it is very important that we were able to bring forward the launch of this new route to a period in which, due to the state of calamity in Rio Grande do Sul and the closure of Porto Alegre airport, the South of Brazil needs it so much”, he stated.

An increase in supply for our largest market, which is Brazil, is normal and desired by us. With this new route, TAP reinforces its commitment to continue investing to be the preferred European airline for Brazilian customers”, concluded Rodrigues.

With the new route to Florianópolis, TAP maintains a record number of flights during the European summer, even with the suspension of flights to Porto Alegre. The company will offer 95 weekly flights, with an average of more than 13 daily flights, departing from 11 Brazilian capitals.

Florianópolis will be TAP’s 12th destination in Brazil. Currently, TAP already has direct flights to São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Belém, Belo Horizonte, Brasília, Fortaleza, Natal, Maceió, Porto Alegre, Recife, Salvador and Lisbon, totaling 12 Brazilian cities. Furthermore, it also has a direct route from São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro to Porto. In total there are 14 routes directly connected to Portugal.
