At the meeting, Tesla’s CEO and Li Qiang spoke about expanding Chinese cooperation with the North American electric car company
Tesla CEO Elon Musk met with Chinese Prime Minister Li Qiang this Sunday (28 April 2024). The owner of platform X is in Beijing (China). According to the news agency ReutersMusk’s visit to the country had not been announced.
“It is an honor to meet with Premier Li Qiang. We have known each other for many years, since the early days in Shanghai.”, published Musk on his X profile.
According to the local vehicle China Dailythe prime minister referred to the development of Tesla in the country as an example “Successful” of trade cooperation between China and the United States. At the meeting, Li Qiang stated that the Chinese market will remain open to foreign companies.
Musk said at the meeting that Tesla’s factory in Shanghai has the company’s best performance. The billionaire also signaled his intention to deepen cooperation with China.
Tesla’s Shanghai factory began operations in 2019. It was the 1st outside the United States. According to China Dailythe factory delivered 947 thousand vehicles in 2023 – an increase of 33% compared to 2022.
