Authorities investigate alleged illicit enrichment by Dina Boluarte, who did not declare luxury watches; She says she has “clean hands”
The president of Peru, Dina Boluarte, these this Saturday (March 30, 2024) that he will not resign from his position after being the target of an operation investigating alleged illicit enrichment and non-declaration of luxury watches.
She stated that she feels “clean hands” and who will leave the Presidency “only in 2026” –when his mandate ends.

Boluarte’s house was searched and seized on Friday (29th March) at night, and the Government Palace, in the early hours of this Saturday (30th March), according to the Reuters. She called the operation “disproportionate and abusive”.
The Minister of State and Citizenship, Leslie Urteaga, called the operation a “unnecessary” via Twitter. He said that the Public Prosecutor’s Office’s intervention is worrying and excessive.
“The recent intervention by the Public Ministry is worrying, unnecessary and excessive, given the rescheduling requested by the president herself. Respect for the separation of powers is essential to maintain the rule of law in our country”these.
