Ingredients

  • 1 cup of rolled oats

  • 2 cups of milk (can be cow’s milk, plant-based milk such as almond milk, or water)

  • A bit of salt

  • Sugar, honey, or sweetener to taste (optional)

  • Fruits, nuts or other toppings of your choice (optional)

Directions

  • In a pan, add 2 cups of milk (or water) and heat over medium heat.
  • When the milk is hot (not boiling), add the rolled oats and a pinch of salt.
  • Stir constantly to prevent the oats from sticking to the bottom of the pan.
  • Cook over medium heat for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the oats reach the desired consistency. If you prefer a creamier porridge, add more milk.
  • If desired, sweeten the porridge with sugar, honey or sweetener to taste. Remember, you can adjust the amount of sweetener to suit your preferences.
  • Serve the porridge in bowls and add the toppings of your choice, such as fresh fruit, nuts, or even a pinch of cinnamon.
