
Argentine president met Flávio Bolsonaro in São Paulo and said he hoped to see the former president “later”
The president of Argentina, Javier Milei (La Libertad Avanza, right), regretted this Saturday (25.Jul.2026) not being able to visit former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL) during his visit to Brazil. The statement was made during a meeting with senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ), at Palácio dos Bandeirantes, headquarters of the São Paulo government.
When greeting the Argentine president, Flávio stated: “This hug is from my father”. Milei replied: “It was a shame I couldn’t see your father.”to which the senator replied: “After, after“. Afterwards, the two talked about the call “blue wave”. Flávio asked if she would arrive in Brazil, and Milei replied: “Obviously”. The Argentine added: “Let’s finish painting the map, as it corresponds, at once”. Flávio then said that there was “a great hope for October”.
Jair Bolsonaro was sentenced to 27 years and 3 months in prison in the coup plot case. After undergoing surgery, he was granted the right to serve his sentence under house arrest. The former president is recovering from bacterial pneumonia.
Milei participated in a ceremony with the governor of São Paulo, Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans), who presented her with the Medal of the Order of Ipiranga, the State’s highest honor. The Argentine president left the Palácio dos Bandeirantes at around 10 am.
At the end of the conversation, the two also defended joint action. “Let’s fight terrorism together”said Flávio. Milei replied: “Exactly”.
After the agenda at the Palácio dos Bandeirantes, Milei went to the PL national convention, at the Pacaembu Stadium, where he participated in the officialization of Flávio Bolsonaro’s candidacy for the Presidency of the Republic.
