Biden came to the defense of Netanyahu’s government after the international court called for the arrest of high-ranking officials

The Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, and the President of the United States, Joe Biden, criticized this Monday (May 20, 2024) the request for arrest made by the ICC (International Criminal Court) against senior officials of the Israeli government, among them, Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yoav Gallant.

The text accuses Israeli authorities of war crimes and crimes against humanity in the Gaza Strip. ICC Chief Prosecutor Karim Khan reinforced the accusations.

Netanyahu described the complaint as “shame” and stated that “Israel’s fight against Hamas” will continue.

Biden already stated that the “the application of arrest warrants against Israeli leaders is outrageous.”

“There is no equivalence between Israel and Hamas”declared the Democrat.

Antony Blinken, US Secretary of State, also criticized the arrest requests, saying the document is harmful to efforts for a ceasefire.
