In Porto Alegre, floods took over the historic center and different neighborhoods of the city. Mayor Sebastião Melo (MDB) asked residents to leave the affected areas after Lake Guaíba reached a historic mark and exceeded 5 meters.

Internacional’s Beira-Rio stadium and Arena Grêmio were completely flooded. The last one was used to gather homeless people in the city, but had to be evacuated with the scene. At least 200 people were relocated.
