In a telephone call, the heads of state cited the US veto of a Brazilian resolution at the UN Security Council

President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) spoke this Friday (10.Nov.2023) by telephone with the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi. According to Planalto, both criticized the “fragility of multilateralism”. They cited the United States’ veto of the Brazilian resolution on the war in Israel, in the UN Security Council (United Nations). Lula also spoke to the Indian head of state about the negotiations he has with Israel and Egypt to remove Brazilians from conflict zones. “Brazil and India need to have relations of the magnitude of their economies and populations“, said the PT member.
