Jeff Bezos unseats Musk and becomes the richest person in the world

Jeff Bezos surpassed Elon Musk as the richest person in the world this Tuesday (5th March 2024), according to the ranking from the Bloomberg Billionaires Index. The owner of Amazon now has a net worth of $200 billion, while the owner of SpaceX, Tesla and X is in 2nd place with US$ 198 billion.

Over the past 12 months, according to the index, Musk saw a loss of about $31 billion, while Bezos recorded a gain of $23 billion. O ranking is a daily list of the richest people in the world, updated at the end of each trading day in New York.

In January 2023, Musk was once again considered the richest person in the world, surpassing French billionaire Bernard Arnault, president of the luxury goods group LVMH (owner of the brands Sephora, Hennessy, Dior and Louis Vuitton), according to the ranking in real time from Forbes. But he was ousted again by the Frenchman and returned to 2nd place on the list.
