First lady says she talked about the subject with PT president; meeting can be held in the 1st half of 2024

The Brazilian first lady, Janja Lula da Silva, said this Tuesday (July 25, 2023) that she spoke with the national president of the PT (Workers’ Parties), federal deputy Gleisi Hoffmann (PT-PR), to hold a “great meeting” of women parliamentarians in Latin America and the Caribbean in the first half of 2024. “TI have been talking about the importance of us, women of Latin America and the Caribbean, uniting with one voice so that our political representation is greater”these. The statements were given during a speech at the 1st Meeting for the Integration of Latin American Women. The event was held by Itaipu Binacional, in Foz do Iguaçu (PR). Also participating were the Minister of Women, Cida Gonçalves, and of Management and Innovation, Esther Dweck, as well as the president of BB (Banco do Brasil), Tarciana Medeiros, and the first ladies of Argentina, Fabiola Yañez, and Paraguay, Silvana Abdo Lopez.
