The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) stated this Saturday (14) that they are concluding preparations for a “significant ground operation” in the Gaza Strip.

According to the newspaper Times of Israelan IDF statement says that the Israeli military force is prepared to “expand the offensive”, which includes a “wide range of operational plans” for a joint and coordinated attack by air, sea and land.

“In recent days, the tools necessary for combat have been transferred to the assembly areas, and at this stage the various units of the technological and logistics department are working to complete the qualification of the tools and equip them with advanced combat resources, as necessary” , says the IDF.

Israel’s military forces also say they are finalizing the recruitment of reservists. On Thursday afternoon (12), the Israeli Army had already declared that 300,000 soldiers are on the border with northern Gaza ready to invade the territory.



“IDF battalions and soldiers are deployed across the country and are prepared to increase readiness for the next phases of the war, with an emphasis on a significant ground operation,” the military adds.

According to the newspaper, the possibility of a land invasion of Gaza has not yet occurred due to operational considerations, which include the evacuation of Palestinians from the north of the region.

On Friday (13), Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government gave a 24-hour ultimatum for civilians to leave the northern region of the Gaza Strip, where around 1.1 million people live.

The Israeli government extended the deadline and indicated two routes for residents to evacuate the region, between 10 am and 4 pm (local time), from Beit Hanun, in northern Gaza, to Khan Yunes, in the central area. The deadline ended at 10 am, Brasília time.

After ending the deadline set for the exit of civilians from the north of the region, the Israeli Army intensified its attacks against Gaza this Saturday, which marks the eighth day of conflict against the fundamentalist group Hamas.
