Head of European Union diplomacy, Josep Borrel, also warns of the situation on the border with Egypt

The head of European Union diplomacy, Josep Borrel, stated this Monday (12.Feb.2024) in an interview with journalists who, despite “happy that 2 hostages were released”, it is “extremely worried” with plans of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to attack Rafah, in the south of the Gaza Strip. “Netanyahu has called for the evacuation of 1.7 million people without saying where these people could be evacuated to.” The diplomat continued saying that “The situation with Egypt is very tense and we are extraordinarily worried about what could happen there.”
