According to the press of that country, the preliminary results of the presidential election this Sunday (28) in Turkey indicate the victory of Recep Tayyip Erdogan. With 99.06% of the polls cleared, he leads with 52.07% while oppositionist Kemal Kilicdaroglu has 47.93%.

With the result, President Erdogan guarantees another five years in office.

In the first round, Erdogan won 49.5% of the vote, not forming a majority and leading to a second round. Kilic reached 44.9% and has a big challenge ahead of him.

During the election campaign, Erdogan promised to continue with the presidential system, reduce interest rates and strengthen Turkish influence in Europe.

On the other hand, Kiliçdaroglu promised to return to the parliamentary system (withdrawn in 2017) and bring Turkey closer to the European Union and the United States.
