At COP, Lira has a meeting with a representative of the Arab Parliament

The president of the Chamber, Arthur Lira (PP-AL), had a meeting with the president of the Federal National Council of the United Arab Emirates, Saqr Ghobash this Thursday (7.Dec.2023). The bilateral meeting is part of the deputy’s agenda at COP28 (2023 United Nations Conference on Climate Change), in Dubai. According to Lira’s advisor, he thanked the Brazilian delegation for their welcome and invited the head of the United Arab Emirates Parliament to participate in the next edition of the P20, an event that will be held in Brazil in 2024. In October, Lira took office as president of the group, which brings together the heads of Parliament from G20 countries. “It would be a unique opportunity for the 2 parliaments to sign the cooperation agreement, which was not possible in 2022 due to the elections”, said Lira at the meeting. In next year’s edition, Lira stated that there will be a meeting only for female congressmen. He encouraged the Arab country to send its representatives.
