Rate was 2.2 percentage points lower compared to February; rate was 287.9% in the last 12 months

Argentina’s monthly inflation closed March at 11%. It represents a slowdown compared to February, when it reached 13.2%.

The data are from Indec (National Institute of Statistics and Census) and were released this Friday (April 12, 2024). Here is the full report (PDF – 1 MB, in Spanish).

Education (52.7%), communication (15.9%) and housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels (13.3%) were the sectors that had the highest monthly variation.

Argentine annual inflation rose to 287.9% in March – the highest level since February 1991, when inflation was 582%. The increase was 11.7 percentage points compared to the 276.2% recorded in February.
