Number represents an increase of 229% compared to the same period last year; revenue grew 12.5% compared to 2023
Amazon recorded a net profit of US$10.43 billion in the 1st quarter of 2024. The value is almost 3 times higher than that recorded in the same period last year, when it was US$3.17 billion. Net income per share was US$0.98, compared to US$0.31 recorded from January to March 2023.
North America segment sales increased 12% year-over-year to $86.3 billion. Sales in the international segment increased by 10%, totaling US$ 31.9 billion.

Sales in the AWS (Amazon Web Service) segment – the company’s cloud service – increased 17% compared to the previous year, totaling US$ 25 billion.
“The combination of companies renewing their infrastructure modernization efforts and the appeal of AWS AI capabilities is accelerating our rate of growth”added Jassy.
