Prime Video will broadcast the match between Miami Dolphins and New York Jets to boost sales for big tech

Amazon paid around US$100 million to transfer the TNF (Thursday Night Football, in English) from the NFL (National Football League, in English) this Thursday (23.Nov.2023) – the date on which the Christmas holiday is celebrated. Thanksgiving – for Friday (Nov 24), when it will be Black Friday.

This will be the 1st “Black Friday Football”. The platform will run an online sales campaign during the broadcast of the game between Miami Dolphins and New York Jets, which will start at 5pm (Brasília time).

Prime Video, a streaming service from Jeff Bezos’ company, pays US$1 billion annually for the rights to broadcast Thursday Night Football. The only exception is on Thanksgiving Day, celebrated on the 4th Thursday of November, when these rights are granted to Fox, CBS e NBC.

The objective of the agreement is to encourage online purchases during the game, thanks to QR codes that will be displayed during the game. Streaming on Amazon Prime Video is free for everyone, including non-subscribers, but you need to have an Amazon account and log in.
