The average of polls compiled by CNN in the United States reveals that neither Democrat Kamala Harris nor her opponent, Republican Donald Trump, emerged as leaders in the country’s population’s voting intentions.

According to CNN, each maintains 49% support in an average of recent polls that tested the confrontation in the states.

The latest survey incorporates six other polls released in the weeks since Joe Biden announced his decision to drop out of the race. All six polls show the race tied within the margin of error.

A new poll from Marquette Law School, conducted between July 24 and August 1, released on Thursday (8), shows that, in a direct confrontation, Kamala obtained 52% to Trump’s 48%, among registered voters, with an approximate margin of error of 4.1 percentage points.

The survey already takes into account the Ipsos poll, released this Thursday (8), which reveals Kamala numerically ahead of her rival, with 49% of the votes, compared to 47% for Trump, but technically tied considering the margin of error.

Another poll, from NPR/PBS/Marist, found that Americans trust Harris more than Trump to handle the abortion issue (56% say Harris would do a better job, compared with 41% for Trump) and to preserve democracy (53% say Harris, 46% say Trump).

Americans, however, according to the poll, prefer Trump on immigration (52% say Trump would be better at handling the issue, 46%, Harris), with a narrower split on who would be better at handling the economy (51% say Trump would be better, 48%, Harris).
