US President and re-election candidate Joe Biden has told campaign donors that he intends to change strategy in the next election debate: “attack, attack, attack.”

The Democrat met virtually with his campaign’s main financiers on Monday (8) and reaffirmed that he will not leave the race. Biden has been under pressure to abandon the race after a disgraceful performance in the presidential debate organized by CNN last month.

Biden described the strategy simply, according to two participants: “Attack, attack, attack.” More than 300 members of the campaign’s National Finance Committee participated in the call. The next debate is scheduled for September 10.

“My only job is to defeat Donald Trump,” Biden said, according to an account from one of the meeting’s participants, who said the president thanked donors and renewed his promise to keep the fight alive.

Former US President Donald Trump still leads in voting intentions for the presidential election, and the percentage difference for President Joe Biden increased after the first debate between the two, according to a survey published last Wednesday (3) by the Siena institute and the newspaper “The New York Times”.

According to the poll, Trump now leads the race with 49% of the vote, compared to Biden’s 43%. Compared to the week before the poll, before the debate, Trump increased his lead, according to the American newspaper: from three to six points.
