The majority (74%) of black adults in the United States say the prison system is designed to hold them back. Most of them also believe that this happens with the political system (67%) and the economic system (65%). You data are from Pew Research Center.

Furthermore, 82% of black Americans say they have heard that they “are more likely to be arrested than white people because prisons want to make money at the expense of black people”.

The survey also found that 75% of black people said they had already suffered racial discrimination. Of these, 13% said they suffered regularly and 62%, from time to time.

The survey surveyed 4,736 US adults who identify as black and non-Hispanic, multiracial black and non-Hispanic, or black and Hispanic, from September 12 to 24 last year.
