In a note released this Sunday (2), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed indignation and condemned the bombing that took place in Saddikine, in southern Lebanon, which left three Brazilians injured.

The victims, a woman and her two children, receive care at the Lebanese Italiano Hospital, in Tire. The Brazilian Embassy in Beirut is monitoring the case and is in constant contact with the medical team and the families of the injured. The 30-year-old woman is in serious condition. Her 10-year-old daughter suffered serious injuries to her leg and needed surgery, while her nine-year-old son is stable.

Itamaraty highlighted that this Saturday’s episode (1/6) occurred in the “context of attacks by the Israeli armed forces in the South of Lebanon and by Hezbollah in the North of Israel”.

“Brazil urges the parties involved in hostilities to exercise maximum restraint, as well as respect for human rights and humanitarian law, so as to prevent the spread of the conflict in Gaza and avoid new innocent civilian victims,” the note concludes.

Southern Lebanon, a region under monitoring by the Brazilian embassy, is dominated by Hezbollah, an organization that has been the target of Israeli attacks due to the worsening of the war between Israel and Hamas.
