Gleisi mocks TikTok’s blockade in the US: “Defenders of freedom?”

The president of the PT, deputy Gleisi Hoffmann (PR), asked this Thursday (April 25), on her social media profile, how the “defenders of the liar’s ‘freedom of expression’” Elon Musk, dono do X (former Twitter), about the sanction of US President Joe Biden (Democrat), which forces the Chinese company ByteDance to sell TikTok in the United States within 1 year. If the social network is not managed by a North American businessman, it will be banned in the country. TikTok said it will challenge the decision in court.

“Imagine the outcry ‘against censorship’ if it were in China, Cuba, Venezuela… But it was in the United States that Congress approved and the president sanctioned a law that could ban TikTok from the country if it is not sold to a group American private sector”, these Gleisi on her profile on X. She further stated: “What do the defenders of the ‘freedom of expression’ of the liar Elon Musk and his band of fascists look like now? Dictatorship against other people’s social networks is eye candy, right?”

The measure was approved by the US House on Saturday (Apr 20), by the Senate on Tuesday (Apr 23) and sanctioned by Biden on Wednesday (Apr 24). The decision was driven by US authorities’ suspicion that China was using the platform to access North Americans’ data and monitor them.

Musk x Moraes
