Ingredients

  • 1 kg of fresh strawberries, clean and without leaves

  • 750g sugar (you can adjust according to your sweetness preference)

  • 1 lemon juice

Directions

  • Wash the strawberries well and remove the stems. Cut them into smaller pieces if you prefer chunks in your jelly, or leave them whole for a smoother consistency.
  • In a large pan, place the prepared strawberries and add the sugar and lemon juice. Mix well.
  • Let it rest for about 1 hour so the strawberries release some juice.
  • After the resting time, place the pan over medium-high heat.
  • Stir occasionally until the sugar is completely dissolved.
  • Reduce the heat to medium and cook for about 30-40 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the mixture reaches the desired jelly-like consistency. You can test this by placing a small amount of jam on a cold plate. If it sets after a few minutes, it’s ready.
  • While the jelly is still hot, pour it into sterilized jars.
  • Close the jars tightly and let them cool completely before refrigerating.
  • Your strawberry jam is ready to enjoy! It’s great on toast, cakes, pancakes and more.
