Ingredients
2 large onions
1 cup of wheat flour
1 cup breadcrumbs
2 eggs
Salt to taste
Pepper to taste
Frying oil
Directions
- Peel the onions and cut them into slices approximately 1 cm thick. Separate the slices into individual rings.
- In a shallow bowl, mix the wheat flour with a pinch of salt and pepper to taste.
- In another shallow bowl, beat the eggs until smooth.
- Dredge each onion ring in the flour, ensuring it is completely coated.
- Then dip the onion ring into the egg mixture, ensuring it is completely covered.
- Finally, dip the onion ring in breadcrumbs, covering it completely. Press lightly to ensure the breadcrumbs stick well.
- In a deep pan, heat the oil over medium-high heat until it reaches a temperature of around 180°C.
- Carefully place the breaded onion rings into the hot oil, making sure not to overcrowd the pan.
- Fry the breaded onion rings for about 2 to 3 minutes on each side, or until golden and crispy.
- Remove the breaded onion rings from the pan and place them on a paper towel to absorb the excess oil.
- Serve the breaded onion rings while still hot, accompanied by your favorite sauces, such as mayonnaise, ketchup or barbecue sauce.
