Ingredients
200g semi-sweet chocolate
150g of butter
200g sugar
3 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
100g wheat flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
100g walnuts or chestnuts (optional)
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 180°C and grease a square or rectangular pan.
- Melt the semi-sweet chocolate and butter in a bain-marie or in the microwave in short bursts. Stir until you obtain a homogeneous mixture.
- In a large bowl, mix the sugar, eggs and vanilla extract until the mixture is creamy.
- Add the melted chocolate mixture to the bowl of dry ingredients and mix well.
- Sift the flour and salt over the chocolate mixture and mix until the flour is fully incorporated.
- If desired, add walnuts or chestnuts and mix.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
- Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs, but not completely wet.
- Leave to cool in the pan for a while and then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Cut into squares and enjoy!
