Tension in the Middle East gained a new chapter this Saturday morning (28). The United States and Israel carried out massive attacks against Iran, which generated outrage in the international community.
Itamaraty reacted and condemned the military action. Other countries, such as Cuba and Russia, have also spoken out.
The PCdoB (Communist Party of Brazil), through its National Executive Committee, condemned the attacks. In a statement, the party understands that “once again the USA goes beyond the UN Charter and international law to attack the territory of a sovereign country.”

In the party’s assessment, it is understood that “the objective of the attacks is to seize the wealth of the Iranian nation, installing a puppet government, in addition to eliminating any resistance to Zionism’s genocide plans against the Palestinian people.”
By offering solidarity to the Persian country and condemning the military actions of the USA and Israel, the party also points to the need for “massive popular mobilizations in defense of peace to be combined with a firm position of all countries jealous of their sovereignty in order to isolate and stop the insane escalation of threats, aggressions and wars promoted by Donald Trump against humanity.”

Iran: Attack on the Persian country requires immediate international reaction
After weeks of threats and intimidating military movements, with the largest US deployment in decades in the Middle East, once again the US goes beyond the UN Charter and international law to attack the territory of a sovereign country. Even in the midst of negotiations between Washington and Tehran, in the early hours of February 28, 2026, Iran was the target of bombings by the US and Israel. Large explosions were seen in the capital, Tehran, and in the cities of Isfahan and Karaj, which experience a working day with millions of people at work, in markets and in schools.
The objective of the attacks is to seize the wealth of the Iranian nation, installing a puppet government, in addition to eliminating any resistance to Zionism’s genocide plans against the Palestinian people.
The Communist Party of Brazil (PCdoB) condemns such acts in the strongest terms and points out the need for massive popular mobilizations in defense of peace to be combined with a firm position from all countries that are jealous of their sovereignty in order to isolate and stop the insane escalation of threats, aggressions and wars promoted by Donald Trump against humanity.
We stand firmly in solidarity with Iran and its people. We defend dialogue as a way to resolve differences between nations, but we recognize Iran’s right to use the necessary means to defend itself against an unfair and unprovoked attack, which is guaranteed by the United Nations Charter.
Down with imperialist and Zionist aggression against Iran!
