In a note, the Venezuelan government considered the post this Saturday (29) by the President of the United States, Donald Trump, a “colonialist threat”, announcing the closure of Venezuelan airspace.

“To all airlines, pilots, drug traffickers and human traffickers: please consider the airspace above and around Venezuela closed in its entirety”, posted the North American president on the Truth Social network, created by him, to once again threaten Venezuela’s sovereignty.

The interpretation is that, by making this type of statement to airlines, Trump insinuates that he could attack the country at any time.

Reuters said that US authorities were suppressed, as they had no knowledge of a military operation to close that country’s airspace.

The Venezuelan government considered the post to be part of Trump’s constant threats against Venezuelan sovereignty.

“This type of declaration constitutes a hostile, unilateral and arbitrary act, incompatible with the most elementary principles of International Law and which is part of a permanent policy of aggression against our country, with colonial claims over our region of Latin America and the Caribbean, denying International Law”, says the note from the Venezuelan government.

In conversations with military personnel this Thursday (27), Trump said he intends to begin ground operations against Venezuela “very soon”.

He stated that entry by land “is easier” and once again used accusations of drug trafficking — never proven by Washington — to justify the escalation that has already led to the deaths of dozens of civilians in the Caribbean.

Under the pretext of combating drug trafficking, the North American president positioned warships in the Caribbean Sea.
