United States President Donald Trump (Republicans) said Israel should “immediately” his offensive against the Gaza Strip after Hamas announced a willingness to release all Israeli hostages and negotiate the terms of a peace agreement. The statement was made in a publication on the Truth Social network, accompanied by criticism of the escalation of violence and appeals by a quick solution to the conflict.

Hamas accepts to return hostages and negotiations advance

According to the Palestinian group, all Israeli hostages, alive or dead, would be returned as part of the proposal presented by Washington. “Based on the newly released statement by Hamas, I believe they are ready for lasting peace. Israel should immediately interrupt the bombing of Gaza, so that we can redeem the hostages safely and quickly. At this time, it is too dangerous to do this. We are already discussing details to be right.

Despite acceptance, Hamas reaffirmed that it will not give up weapons before the end of the Israeli occupation of the Enclave, which maintains a significant distance between the demands of the parties.

Intensification of attacks and role of mediators

Witnesses in Gaza reported that, shortly after the statement of Hamas, Israeli military planes intensified bombing in Gaza neighborhoods and Khan Youis, without immediate record of victims. Israel did not officially comment on Trump’s proposal, although authorities signaled support for American mediation.

Qatar, in coordination with Egypt and the United States, assumed the task of continuing the talks. The spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar stated that the goal is to consolidate a negotiation that reduces violence and make room for a broader deal.

Pressure for agreement and climbing threat

Trump set a deadline until Sunday (5) at night, for Brasilia, so that Hamas formally accepts the American plan, under penalty of facing what he called “total hell.”

“We will have peace in the Middle East in one way or another. Violence and bloodshed will cease. Liberate the hostages, all of them – including the bodies of those who are dead – now! An agreement should be signed with Hamas until Sunday night. All countries have signed. If this agreement, one last chance, is not firm, a hell like no one has ever seen before Hamas,” said the president.
